The Sgx Nifty Future is trading at 9,127.00 with a loss of -1.93% percent or -179.50 point. The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 19,267.50 with a loss of -0.89% percent or –172.50 point.The Hang Seng Future is trading at 23,875.00 with a loss of -0.48% percent or -116.00 point.
TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
The Association of Mutual Funds of India (AMFI) assured investors that majority of Fixed Income Mutual Funds AUM is invested in superior credit quality securities and schemes have appropriate liquidity to ensure normal operations and hence, investors should remain invested in Mutual Funds to create wealth over the long term.
Among individual stocks, Bajaj Finance (down 6%) and IndusInd Bank (down 4%) were the top Sensex laggards while HDFC twins were also down 2 per cent each. On the other hand, Reliance Industries (up 5%) was the lead gainer.
At the index level, the S&P BSE Sensex was down over 450 points at 31,403 levels while the Nifty50 slipped 9,200 levels. Majority of the Nifty sectoral indices were in the red, led by Nifty Private Bank and Nifty Financial indexes, both down 3 per cent each. On the other hand, Nifty Pharma index was up 2 per cent.
