SgxNifty Futures Update : 21 June 2022

The  SgxNifty Future is trading at 15,680.5 with +2.17% or +332.9 point. The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 26,383.0 with +2.34% percent or +603.0 point.The Hang Seng Future is trading at 21,535.5 up  with +2.00% percent or +421.5 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

The Sensex like the Nifty Index was seeing a negative divergence – where price marks lower low but oscillator makes new high.

Coupled with the technical setup – FIIs are sitting on record high short positions in Index futures which is what has led to the short covering move in the Index. Having said that, the Index is still not out of the woods since a faster retracement of the fall above 53,500-54,000 zone can only give more confirmation for a recovery rally.

For the day the  nifty closed at 15,662.35 up with +2.03% percent or +312.20  point.Nikkei 225 is trading at 26,246.31 with 1.84% percent or 1.84% point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 21,559.59 up with +1.87% or +395.68 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 29,927.07  with a loss of –2.42% percent or ?741.46  point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,666.77 with a loss of –3.25% percent or ?123.22   point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 10,646.10 with a loss of –4.08% percent or ?453.06   point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 25,963.00 with a loss of –1.77% percent or ?468.20  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 21,061.07  up with +1.03% percent or +215.64 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,320.98 up with +1.08% percent or +35.60 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 51,214.47  with a loss of  –0.55% percent or ?281.32  point at 12:15 PM.
