The  SgxNifty Future is trading at 17,682.20 with a loss of -0.15% or -25.75 point. The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 29,633.00 with a loss of -0.96% percent or -287.00 point.The Hang Seng Future is trading at 24,597.50 with +0.50% percent or +122.50 point.

 

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Foreign Portfolio Investors(FPIs) are stepping up opposition against market regulator the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s(Sebi’s) plan to introduce a shorter settlement cycle. Three FPI lobby groups — the Asian Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA), Traders Forum Asia and the UK-based Investment Association – have sent a joint letter to Sebi chairman Ajay Tyagi alleging that they were not consulted on the new rules.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 24,565.95 up with +0.27%ercent or ++65.56 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,554.49 with a loss of –1.34%percent or 48.26  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 59,178.49  with a loss of 0.82% percent or 0.82% point at 12:15 PM.
