The Nifty Future is trading at 16,660.20 with a loss of -2.13% or -361.75 point. The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 27,947.50 with a loss of -1.73% percent or -492.50 point.The Hang Seng Future is trading at 22,848.50 with a loss of -1.63% percent or -379.50 point.
TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
Amid a worsening pandemic in the Western world and weakness in global markets, Indian stocks slumped further on Monday. Down 10 per cent from their record highs, both Sensex and Nifty have now entered the correction zone.
Rising inflation, hawkish central banks, exploding Covid cases caused by the Omicron variant, sustained selling by FIIs and slowing growth momentum in the developed economies combined to produce the perfect storm that is spooking the market, said analysts.
