The SgxNifty Future is trading at 16,044.00 with a loss of -0.86% or -139.35 point. The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 26,722.5 with -1.21% percent or -327.5 point.The Hang Seng Future is trading at 19,893.5 with a loss of -1.58% percent or -319.5 point.
TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
Shares of sugar companies took a sharp knock after a Bloomberg news flash said that the Government of India is looking to limit exports of sugar. This step comes just days after the Centre had restricted the export on wheat. The new move to curb sugar export is being seen by some as a new risk to global food prices. Balrampur Chini, Shri Renuka Sugar has fallen 10 percent each, Dhampur Sugar is down 5 percent while Sakthi Sugars slipped 7 percent and Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar declined 4 percent.
